Want to travel the world and transform the lives of children with cleft lips and palates? We invite you to join us as we work to transform children's lives, one smile at a time.
Alliance for Smiles forever improves and transforms the lives of children and communities impacted by cleft lip and palate by providing free comprehensive treatment, while training and equipping local teams to sustainably provide quality, long-term care.
Alliance for Smiles is looking for volunteers to serve on medical missions in under-served areas of the world. We are recruiting plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and OR nurses.
Missions last one to two weeks, depending on the location. We cover airfare, food, and lodging for all medical volunteers.
This year, we've traveled to Guatemala, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Ecuador, and we're planning additional missions to Ghana, Bangladesh, and beyond.

If you are interested in volunteering on our medical missions, please visit https://www.allianceforsmiles.org/volunteer/#position, select "Medical Volunteer Application", and submit the form online.
We also require the following documents to be submitted along with the application. You will have a chance to upload them at the end of the application, or you can submit them separately via email, fax, or standard mail.
- Current License to Practice
- Curriculum Vitae
- PALS Certification (for Pediatricians and PACU Nurses)
- Diploma
- Board Certification (for Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, CRNAs and Pediatricians)
- Cover Letter (Surgeons: include cleft experience; Anesthesiologists and PACU nurses: include pediatric experience)
- Photocopy of Passport
- Attestation Form - can be downloaded here: Attestation Form
- Please Note: If you are selected to volunteer on a mission, we will need a headshot of you.
Once we receive your application, we will forward it to our medical services committee for review and approval. If approved, we will add you to our staffing email list to receive notifications about openings for upcoming missions.
