Project Location: Provinces: Morropon Chulucanas / Huancabamba in the Piura Region.

Objective: Contribute to the development of health promotion and disease prevention activities in the health facilities of the Health Network of the Provinces of Morropon and Huancabamba in the Piura Region of Peru.

MAIN ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT BY THE VOLUNTEER:

 

. Support in the application of injectables to patients, children, adolescents and adults.

. Support in the organization and logistics of the pharmacy.

. Support in the organization and execution of free community medical campaigns.

. Support for taking vital signs and anthropometry (blood pressure, height, abdominal perimeter, and BMI).

. Support for the collection of blood samples for clinical laboratory.

. Support in healing wounds on health topic (removal of stitches)



OTHER ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT BY VOLUNTEERS:


 . Educational services to the population for the prevention and control of diseases

. Screening and treatment of patients with diseases, hypertension, diabetes, mental health disorders.

Counseling and workshops aimed at adolescents with risk factors for alcohol and drug consumption.

 


NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

 

. Weight and height evaluation

. Nutritional Balanced Feeding Education Sessions

 


MATERNAL AND NEWBORN HEALTH PROGRAMME

 

. Counseling to the population promoting sexual and reproductive health.

 


TRANSMISIBLE DISEASES PROGRAMME: (Metaxenics and zoonoses)

 

. Awareness raising in educational institutions to promote healthy practices for the prevention of metaxenic and zoonotic diseases.

. Strengthen awareness among the population for the prevention of environmental risks, water pollution, soil and air.

 


BENEFICIARY COMMUNITIES:

 

. Communities in situation of poverty, families and vulnerable people with criteria of social exclusion for their low purchasing level around health.

 


FUNDAMENTS:


The call for volunteers was born on the basis of the current Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between our association and the General Directorate of the Sub Region of Health Morropon - Huancabamba.

 


VOLUNTEER PROFILE:

 

. Be over 18 years old

. Technical and university students, health professionals or technicians, doctors, health management administrators, teachers, social workers, facilitators, obstetricians, dentists, communicators, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, etc.

. Adaptability and ability to cope with new challenges, work as a team and share responsibilities in coexistence with those responsible for health centers.

. Basic and intermediate knowledge of Spanish.



TEAM THAT WILL ACCOMPANY THE ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER

 

. Medical personnel, promoters of health centers in the sub-region Morropon - Huancabamba.
