Create a transformative week of camp as a Camp Director

About This Role:

We are seeking a Camp Director to help us plan and execute an amazing week of camp at Day Camp 2026. As a member of our camp leadership team, you will get the unique opportunity to help create and lead a much-needed camp experience that helps brothers and sisters of childhood cancer receive the personalized support they deserve.

What is Day Camp?

Day Camp is a one-of-a-kind program designed to address the unique challenges that childhood cancer patients, survivors, and siblings face. Our 2026 program will take place in Wellesley, MA, June 28 - July 3. All of our camps are offered free-of-cost to our families to help combat the long-term challenges of childhood cancer.

Specific Responsibilities

Prior to your camp session, you will be responsible for working with our Program Director to plan camp logistics, select and train camp volunteers, and oversee all activities. You will lead the rest of the Sibling Camp Leadership Team throughout planning and execution, helping our team meet internal deadlines and stay on track throughout the year. Throughout the in-person camp session, you’ll provide your fellow leadership and camp counselors with the support they need to thrive in the camp setting. Most importantly, you will get the unique opportunity to help give siblings of childhood cancer an incredible week of camp: feeling understood, having fun, and building friendships to last a lifetime.

Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• 25+
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
• Able to pass a background check (provided by Camp Casco)
• Able to commit to the full camp session in July 2026 (June 28 - July 3) in Wellesley, MA
• Experience providing childcare
• Experience working with children with behavioral challenges
• Kind and supportive management style
• Great communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, such as conflict resolution
• Not afraid to get silly and have fun to make a kid smile
• Determined to help us make this camp session our best one yet!

Expectations & Commitment:

Most of the preparation and planning can be done remotely and around your own schedule. Applicants must be able to commit to attending every day of the in-person camp session in Wellesley, MA (June 28 - July 3, 2026). Applicants should be able to commit to help with this role through the execution of the camp session in 2026.

It’s also common to see a lot of kindness and joy at camp - a refreshing reminder of all of the goodness that exists in our loud and chaotic world.

Away from your desk and electronics, you’ll spend time laughing and getting messy, singing camp songs, and getting to know of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. It’s not uncommon for volunteers to leave with lasting memories and friendships, just like our campers do.
