We ask that volunteers be able to meet with their friend for 4 hours a month, on a schedule that fits with both people's lives. We ask that both the vounteer and friend make a 1 year commitment.

We require vounteers to agree to a backgronud check, provide references and complete our volunteer training. We ask participants to be actively engaged in regular therapy sessions.
Descripción
Compeer matches adults who are living with mental illness with community volunteers to create intentional friendships.
As a volunteer you will connect with your friend on a regular basis at mutually convenient times to share activities you both enjoy, such as movies, sports, going for walks in good weather, shopping or coffee and a chat, etc.
You and your new friend will spend about an hour together once a week (or 2 hours every two weeks). We need volunteers across the adult age and gender spectrum. Training, ongoing education and support are provided by the Compeer staff.
Being a Compeer friend is a fun, fullfilling and wonderful way to make the world a better place!
