    Hello :)

We are Sattya Collective and we are looking for people to join us. Full details and application: sattya.org

Sattya has been part of Kathmandu’s creative scene since 2010 and we’ve been through lots of different phases. Now we are reinventing Sattya and taking it back to the basics.

    About Sattya

Sattya Collective aims to be a catalyst for creativity and learning. We enable emerging artists, media makers, activists, students and anyone interested in hands-on learning to build community and drive Kathmandu’s creative culture forward and onward!

Come and be a part of Sattya if you are interested in:

    • Being a part of setting up a friendly community arts space
    • Art, film, design, photo, audio
    • Storytelling and social justice
    • Crafts like metal work, wood carving, etc.
    • Planning events and designing longer term programs
    • Creating a makerspace and cafe
    • Being a part of a fun, creative community
    • Learning and sharing skills

    Skills Needed

We are looking for reliable and open minded people with a can-do attitude and a willingness to get their hands dirty! Here are some specific skills that would be useful:

    • Art & Design
    • Event planning
    • Arts management and admin
    • PR and Communications
    • Program design and planning
    • Business
    • Grant writing
    • Cafe management

Even if you don’t have any of the above skills but have a good attitude and willingness to work hard and learn, apply anyway!

    Details

At the present time, Sattya has no funding and offers no salaries.

Come as a volunteer who believes in what Sattya wants to create. If and when we are able to organize funding, you will be in a great position to take on a paid role. In the past, we have successfully received funding for large scale projects and offered many paid positions.

We ask volunteers to commit to the hours of 10-3pm, Monday- Friday for one month.

Even though this is not a paid job, we are still serious about our vision and goals. From experience, we know great ideas come to life when we are all able to consistently gather and when we can rely on each other. After one month, we will evaluate if it has been a good fit for both the volunteer and for Sattya as a whole.

We will be starting work from mid-November/early December 2024.

If you can’t start exactly at this time, let us know and we’ll chat!

If you cannot commit to the 10-3 work hours, we still want to hear from you!

We realize that you may have other commitments and are unavailable for these hours, but still want to get involved. Please go ahead and fill out the form and we may be able to figure out project based or an alternative schedule for you.

    Perks

    • Be part of an organization that has been part of Kathmandu’s creative scene since 2010
