Grant Writer/Researcher

We are seeking an organized, self-motivated Grant Writer to join our growing organization for an individual contributor position. In this role, you will be responsible for researching and writing proposals.

The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to public/private foundations and other grant-making organizations and will persuasively communicate KEO Charities mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

As you will provide this support, a positive attitude and attention to detail are a must. This person will closely coordinate with the organization managers, board and help our volunteers.

Duties Include:

• Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
• Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
• Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers.
• Ensuring prompt acknowledgment of foundation grants.
• Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports;
• Conducting prospective grant research.
• Prioritizing grant projects to keep multiple grant projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals.
• Providing grant writing support for major donor and individual contribution letters and acknowledgments.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to public/private foundations and corporate sources.
• Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
• Work with Executive Director, Board to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
• Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
• Provide stewardship to current donors and provide regular written updates to corporate and foundation donors.
• Maintain current records in the database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
