As a North Carolina Afterschool Corps member, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a service cohort building the capacity of afterschool and expanded learning programs serving low-income children across North Carolina. Corps members may: Assess community and organizational needs and identify assets • Recruit and train volunteers • Develop systems for volunteer coordination• Create policies and procedures that increase program effectiveness • Support citizen and student leadership and participation in service • Seek new resources through fund-raising and grant-writing • Facilitate community-based research and co-curricular opportunities that support communities • Manage programmatic outreach, communications, and marketing • Coordinate afterschool awareness events and national day of service events• Promote AmeriCorps, VISTA, and national service.
This is a one-year service commitment.
