Personal development forms a crucial part of LAFF’s mission to create access to education with equity: recognising the socio-cultural context in which we work to give beneficiaries the support they need in order to take advantage of the quality education we offer. The Personal Development Coordinator will work with our partners to identify and meet the basic physical, emotional and social needs of beneficiaries and develop strategies to equip them with essential skills for life.
You will use your research with partners to identify areas where beneficiaries need support and design and implement corresponding workshops. The areas for these workshops could include (but are not limited to): self-esteem and empowerment, leadership skills, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
The Personal Development Coordinator will bring ideas and initiative to the role but is not expected to be an expert in the area: LAFF welcomes a combination of research and collaboration with external, specialised organisations that the Coordinator will research. Enjoying working with young people and having good interpersonal skills to listen and offer support is essential.
Objectives of this Role
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Personal Development Coordinator will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Skills and Qualifications
Personal Qualities
We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to work individually and as part of a team. The Personal Development Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that LAFF’s beneficiaries have the skills and support necessary to take advantage of the quality education programme LAFF offers. This role offers the chance to contribute to beneficiaries personal development which will have a great impact on their futures. Working with and listening to young people will be key to the success of this role, and so experience with working with children is highly important. Collaboration with partners offers the chance to understand the challenges facing young people in Peru, listening to their experience and responding to it with your ideas to create a project proposal will amplify the potential of workshops to improve beneficiaries’ lives.
