Fundraising and Grant Writing Volunteer (remote)

Re!gnite Africa (RA) is a young adults-focused development and advocacy not-for-profit organization that works with young people and like-minded organizations to tackle unemployment and its effects among young adults in Uganda. The organization nurtures youths’ abilities by creating and connecting them to opportunities that help maximize their potential. RA grooms young people into fully-fledged young professionals, leaders, and advocates who create their own opportunities and push for better policies for them and their communities.

Role Details

Re!gnite Africa is searching for an individual passionate about nurturing young organizations into fully-fledged and independent entities through sharing their fundraising and grant writing knowledge and talent. The individual will be in charge of researching and writing grant proposals on behalf of our organization. If interested, you should be comfortable reaching out to institutional and potential donors, as well as advising the organization on key financial needs and strategies.

Our ideal candidate is someone who will be able to enthusiastically help our organization attain the donations it needs to serve young people in Uganda and beyond.

Compensation: This is a volunteer position but we are confident that as we get funded it will convert to a paid position.

Responsibilities

• Research, prepare, and submit proposals for funding
• Follow all requirements and deadlines for grant applications
• Maintain a grants calendar to monitor progress
• Communicate with potential donors and institutional donors
• Write sponsorship packages
• Identify new funding opportunities
• Review budget proposals with Re!gnite leadership

Skills

• A bachelors degree is required
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Familiar with, online fundraising, grant research, and applications
• Proficient with social media platforms and advocacy language
• Strong time management, organizational and internet research skills a must;
• Must be a self-starter, who stays on task and requires minimum supervision.
• Must be a creative, enthusiastic, forward thinker who enjoys working independently as well as part of a team;
