Work with Ukrainian refugees to improve their English skills through one-on-one or group lessons. Volunteers are needed to help tutor Ukrainian refugees to improve their English to help them adapt to a new culture and country. Lessons can take place in designated spaces provided by the Slavic Refugee and Immigrant Services Organisation (SRISO).
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Key Responsibilities:
Tutors will help participants with conversational English, vocabulary building, and practical communication skills.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must be fluent in English and have a passion for teaching or mentoring
No formal teaching experience is required, but patience and strong communication skills are essential
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months
Onboarding Process: Background check
Physical Requirements: None. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and all tutoring can be online
