MISSION STATEMENT:
California Mock Trial Collaborative is a student-led organization with leadership across 10 (and counting!) counties that strives to bridge the accessibility gap in mock trial through resource sharing, workshops, digital scrimmages, and more. This organization is empowered by a devoted executive board that is passionate about addressing systemic inequalities in academic competitions in order to build a more diverse body of future leaders. As the next generation of lawyers, legislators, and politicians, it is important for us students in mock trial to promote social justice by closing the very real resource gap!
ORGANIZATION FORMAT:
California Mock Trial Collaborative will be empowered by Google Meet, social media, and Discord. The Discord server (https://discord.com/invite/2jR6e8xMm) will be a place for sharing resources and communicating about upcoming meetings/scrimmages. We will also be holding mock trial scrimmages next year in order to connect teams of various skill sets with each other for free. We hope to also expand to workshops and legal panel Q&As in the near future!
VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Social media content creation
- Conducting outreach & forging partnerships
- Judging scrimmages
- Leading & creating curriculum for workshops
- Attending meetings
- Creating and distributing mock trial resources (ex. simplified objections, pre trial tips, and more)
