Board of Director Advisor

At Wings of Hope for Africa Foundation We work to provide basic human needs to families enduring poverty throughout the Calgary Area.Our organization is growing, and we are seeking individuals who will be passionate about our mission and vision and apply their skills to meaningful work that advances our short- and long-term goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be passionate about WHA's mission and vision and act as an ambassador for its programs in your sphere of influence.
• Contribute to the development and advancement of WHA’s programs and initiatives in Canada.
• Actively seek opportunities, partners, potential sponsors, and donors in your community to support fund development and initiatives to advance WHA’s mission.
• Provide your skill sets to support strategic and organizational planning for WHA.
• Work with other board members to assess the performance of key WHA areas (Financial Health of the organization, Community impact etc.)
• Attend and actively participate in all board meetings (4 per year)

COMMITMENT

1year term, 2+6 hours/month.

SKILL SET AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years professional work experience in areas including but not limited to governance, human resources, finance, Information Technology, International development etc.
• Past or Present experience as an active member of a board (preferred, but not required)
• A passion for development work and a support for our mission and vision.
• Possess strong leadership skill
• Possess strong communication skill
• Possess strong networking skill
