Organization Overview

Way Club is a faith-based social club for teenagers in high school. Our mission is to cultivate spaces for teens who desire to be more. We accomplish this by fostering fun, connection, exposure and accountability. For more information, please visit Way Club’s website at www.wayclub.org.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chair of the Finance Committee. Specific

responsibilities include:

• Ensure that the organization maintains the appropriate financial books and records and that these are accurate and up-to-date
• Verify that donations are handled appropriately and that grants and service delivery contracts are accounted for in accordance with the requirements of funders
• Ensure that the appropriate monthly or quarterly financial statements are reviewed and presented to Board for approval
• Assist with preparation of annual budget and present to Board for approval
• Ensure that excess funds and reserves are properly held and invested
• Work with Finance Committee to develop and recommend fiscal policies to Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization
• Work with Finance Committee to develop long-term financial strategies
• Identify potential risks to the organization and develop plans to mitigate those risks
• Serve as a signatory on bank accounts (if applicable)

Qualifications

• Commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions
• Understanding of, and experience with, good financial management and reporting practices
• An ability to commit the time required to fulfill the responsibilities described
• Good communication skills and the ability to present financial information in a clear, concise manner to other Board members and stakeholders
• Accounting or Finance background preferred
