We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a head for business and experience/skill in digital marketing to help an exciting start-up social enterprise dealing with Specialty coffee.
We have recently started trading as Mukisa Coffee, a social enterprise in partnership with an organisation we founded in 2016, The Uganda School Project, that works in the development of primary education in rural Uganda.
We import, roast and sell Ugandan Specialty coffee to the UK market.
The role will involve all aspects of start-up work, including:
Candidates will be working in coordination with the Director (who is located between Brighton and Uganda), but will be given a lot of autonomy and responsibility to perform their tasks as they see fit, and will therefore need exceptional organisational skills, initiative, and communication skills to develop and nurture business relationships.
Experience in digital marketing is strongly preferred. Prior knowledge of coffee is also preferred and geographical proximity to Brighton is also essential in the early stages to assist with order fulfilment (i.e. packaging and sending the coffee to customers), 1-2 days per month (expenses covered)
The role will not initially be paid but will give great experience to the candidate in a dynamic and exciting start up business with a great social cause. Any business-related expenses will be covered and there is potential for a paid role down the line if sustainable growth and funding is achieved.
The role is for a minimum of 3 months but with potential to extend if both parties are happy.
