Master of Global Affairs Students Association (MGASA)

The MGASA is a non-profit, non-partisan student organization dedicated to representing the MGA student body, by speaking with a single voice on matters of importance, and organizing, directly or in an oversight capacity, student events.

Progress Solved

Progress Solved is a student-run think tank dedicated to assessing the future implications and ethics of emerging technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), The Internet of Things (IoT), etc. Progress Solved host three activities throughout the year: a) bi-monthly meetings where we invite experts to speak on various technologies, b) Online publication, and c) annual conference.

Spectrum

Spectrum is a student initiative with the dual mandate to 1) promote increased visibility and representation for LGBTQ2+ individuals in the Canadian policy sector by offering them the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, and to 2) advance academic scholarship relating to LGBTQ2+ issues in public policy and other related spheres. Spectrum is committed to approaching its work through an intersectional lens, collaborating with Munk SLIs and other organizations to deliver programming that uplifts all members of our community, centering those most marginalized. Through its events and programming (made remotely accessible online wherever possible), Spectrum aims to create safe(r) spaces where LGBTQ2+ students and allies can build community and develop their networks, find inclusive resources and supports, and engage with queer policy issues in Canada and beyond.

Munk School Black Student Association (MSBSA)

The Munk School Black Student Association (MSBSA) strives to foster the representation of Black and racialized communities within the Munk School. This initiative provides inclusive opportunities for leadership, community engagement, and networking for racialized students and their allies at Munk, while committing to tackle anti-Black racism and systemic discrimination at the Munk School and beyond. 

Consulting Careers Initiative (CCI)

Supports the professional development of Munk students and their career goals in consulting. CCI holds a variety of exciting events and networking opportunities throughout the year, including case competitions, CV and interview workshops, speaker series, and more

Indigenous Policy Initiative (IPI)

IPI is a newly-established graduate student-led initiative that aims to provide a platform to discuss Indigenous issues from a policy-focused lens. In conjunction with our Advisory Board, consisting of Bob Rae, Professor Douglas Sanderson and Professor Verne Ross, we seek to promote awareness of Indigenous issues and encourage the enrolment of Indigenous students at the Munk School.
