Lydia Sierra Consulting (LSC) has provided non-profit, community-based organizations with comprehensive fund development services since 2010. Our seasoned team has raised tens of millions of dollars for grassroots organizations founded and run by members of the communities they serve. Our clients work across a variety of program areas, from immigration to youth development, re-entry services, community development, organizing/advocacy, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, environmental/climate justice, community healthcare, and more. 

LSC has grown significantly in recent years and, as we scale up, we are looking to hire an experienced and passionate professional who will join our tight-knit team. The Manager of Accounts and Administration will serve as a key point of contact for clients, working closely with and reporting to the Director of Accounts and Administration. The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned professional with at least five years of experience working with task and data management systems, providing operational support, supervising staff, and coordinating administrative systems and general workflows. They are collaborative, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator, with a good understanding of nonprofit management and fund development. They are responsible for providing oversight in the preparation of grant applications, navigating grant portals, and assisting in the management of approved grants. Because they work closely with clients, high-level executives, and funders, strong customer orientation, superb verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively listen to and professionally correspond with clients and active funders is essential. They also exhibit leadership qualities and a high-level of systems and strategic thinking, as they will be working with the Director of Accounts and Administration to improve organizational processes and maximize operational efficiency. Ultimately, they are responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing personnel, and ensuring that all activities meet quality standards so that the organization’s operations function smoothly. Importantly, they are driven by the impact that their work has in helping our clients serve their communities. 

Job Description:


  • Support Director of Accounts and Administration with clients’ Fund Development and Grants Management projects;
  • Help develop, implement, oversee, monitor and improve the processes and practices of the administration team;
  • Facilitate grants application processes (from the creation of the Google Doc outline to application submission) and conduct follow-up for funder decisions, contracts, reporting requirements;
  • Maintain quality control to make sure all work adheres to company standards and convey any quality issues to Director of Accounts and Administration;
  • Manage two Grants Coordinators, delegate work, oversee timely completion of tasks;
  • Monitor project deadlines tracked in the task management system (HIVE);
  • Review potential funders’ websites, RFPs, and application portals to ensure all administrative prerequisites are completed for grant opportunities;
  • Review “grant proposal outlines” in Google Docs created by Grant Coordinator in preparation for Grant Writers to use to draft proposals/applications;
  • Monitor Salesforce database and other systems as directed by Director of Accounts and Administration;
  • Track and update state, city, and federal portals that require users (our clients) to maintain updated financial and compliance information;
  • Participate in Administration Team meetings; Provide assistance to other staff as needed

Skills and Attributes Needed:

  • Five to ten years of related experience working in Non-profit Fund Development/Grants Management - specifically in administrative functions;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills 
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to adapt to grants management systems in place;
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work independently, as well as with others, in a collaborative, often fast-paced, team culture;
  • Excellent customer service skills with emphasis on efficient, respectful, and tactful communications;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tolerance, flexibility, patience, and humor;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong information technology skills, including proven advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and database programs (Salesforce);
  • Knowledge of Government Grant systems (Grants.gov, SAM.gov)
  • Knowledge of New York State and NYC (MOCS) Application and contract systems (PASSPort, NYS Grants Gateway) a plus;

  • Ability to work 15 - 25 hours a week with availability from 8:30AM - 2:30PM EST
