Company Description
Bloom is a Philadelphia-based strategic planning and organizational development consultancy firm, striving in anti-racist ways to serve clients primarily in the preK-12 and social service nonprofit sectors. We work hard to do good work well with organizations and systems serving vulnerable and often historically oppressed or marginalized communities. Since 2015, our work has impacted literally millions of people in the greater Philadelphia area, across Pennsylvania, and around the country.
Bloom is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse and pluralistic workplace. We strongly encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
Position Overview
The Lead Consultant (LC) is an externally facing and internally contributing position. The LC manages client projects end-to-end and is a member of the Bloom leadership team, collaborating with colleagues to set and achieve the firm’s business goals. The LC will work with the Managing Director and other members of the leadership team to bring in new clients as well as to renew former clients in order to expand Bloom’s reach and impact both inside and outside of Philadelphia. She/he/they will take responsibility for designing, initiating, managing, and completing project work by leading client communications, negotiating project design, executing project responsibilities – including substantial research, planning, facilitating, and advising – and managing Bloom team members and subcontractors as relevant. In all facets of the work, the LC will focus on managing and delivering excellent services and products that help clients meet their goals for planning and impact and she/he/they should possess experience and/or deep interest in Bloom’s core content areas (education, services to children, youth, and families, community revitalization, health and human services, human-centered nonprofits, collaborations, and collective initiatives). The majority of the LC’s time will be spent on client-facing work, sales support, and project team management.
Our client-facing work is typically complex, often sophisticated, sometimes obvious, at times tedious, occasionally ambiguous, and often gratifying. An LC who embraces this reality – excited by the prospect of solving client puzzles in a high-quality way and following through despite the difficulty and intrigue of the work – is predisposed to being successful. Like all team members, the LC will ultimately be committed to furthering Bloom’s mission of delivering high-quality, accessible products that promote positive change, equity, and social good all while maintaining the authenticity of Bloom’s brand.
The LC reports directly to the Managing Director, Ingrid Boucher, and is part of a highly collaborative core team of smart, capable, productive people who like to laugh.
