    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Programs Manager-Economic Security will play a vital role in the implementation and management of programmatic work focused on expanding childcare access, workplace justice, expanding comprehensive healthcare access, advancing efforts towards pay equity, and deepening civic engagement among Black women. The Programs Manager-Economic Security will work closely with other staff, stakeholders, partners, and community leaders to promote and sustain impactful initiatives that align with the organization’s policy change strategies. This position reports directly to the Director of Policy, Advocacy and Movement Building.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Program Management:

    • Oversee the implementation of economic security programs, ensuring they meet established goals and objectives.
    • Develop and manage program work plans and timelines.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure program alignment with broader advocacy and policy goals.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements.
    • Monitor program level budgets to ensure programs operate within the allocated budget and provide the Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Movement Building with program budget forecasting and projections.
    • Manage and coordinate program, coalition, and internal meetings.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, advocacy groups, policymakers, and program participants.
    • Facilitate regular meetings and communication with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure program responsiveness.
    • Represent the organization at community meetings, forums, and public events to advocate for economic security initiatives.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Work with the Director of Policy, Advocacy and Movement Building and the Deputy Director of Programs and Strategy to design program level evaluation methodologies and data collection processes to support impact reporting.
    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact.
    • Use data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjust program strategies as needed.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on program outcomes to leadership and funders.

    Collaboration and Partnership Development:

    • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations and coalitions that align with the mission.
    • Collaborate with partners to coordinate efforts, share resources, and amplify the impact of the programs.
    • Lead joint initiatives with partners to address economic security challenges.

    Communications and Reporting:

    • Develop reports, presentations, and other communications materials to document program progress and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the communications team to publicize program successes and raise awareness of economic security issues.
    • Contribute to the development of communication strategies that effectively convey the organization's goals and achievements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, social sciences, or a related field.
    • Minimum of three to five years of experience in program management, advocacy, or a related area, with a focus on economic justice and equity.
    • Proven experience in managing community programs, including budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and compliance.
    • Understanding of the policy landscape and the ability to engage with policymakers, community leaders, and diverse audiences effectively.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to social justice and the mission of advancing economic security for underserved communities.

    COMPENSATION

    The Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable is committed to equity and fair pay across all of our staff positions, therefore the salary range for this position is $58,000 - $68,000. Benefits include 100% employer-paid medical insurance with available dental and vision coverage, along with paid vacation.
