India currently ranks 120/122 nations in the provision of water. 30% of women walk over 500 metres multiple times a day to source water that is usually contaminated with a variety of pollutants. As a result, 1.5 million children die annually from diarrhoea alone, hospitals are filled to capacity due to over ~50% illnesses being water-related, and roughly 20 billion rupees worth of value in labour productivity are erased from the economy every year.
Piramal Sarvajal, a mission driven social enterprise, was born out of the necessity to address this very problem by deploying cutting-edge technology and uniquely sustainable business models to provide community level safe drinking water systems across India. We strive to ensure quality assured, 24x7 access to drinking water in a variety of contexts, thereby reducing the debilitating health and economic ill-effects of water-borne diseases in the country.
