Yolélé

Yolélé is a purpose-driven food brand introducing the powerful and delicious ingredients of Africa to the world. Our first ingredient is fonio: a tiny, powerful ancient grain that cooks in just five minutes and has transformational potential for the people and environment of the Sahel Region of West Africa.

Our mission at Yolélé is to create economic opportunity for smallholder farming communities, to promote regenerative farming practices, to foster a more biodiverse, resilient food system, and to introduce Africa’s incredible ingredients to tables around the world.

Yolélé was co- founded by Senegalese chef, activist, and cookbook author Pierre Thiam. Since launching in 2017, we have been covered by the New York Times, Bon Appetit, Eater, CNN, and many more. We are growing quickly in retail and food service distribution and are introducing some exciting new products very soon.

We are a collaborative, mission-driven, creative team. We value independence, fun, diversity, respectful discussion, and bringing our whole selves to work.
