Parking Attendant
Position Focus
Yale Peabody Parking Attendants are the first impression visitors will have upon arriving to the Peabody Museum. They will welcome guests of the museum, provide information, aid in direction. Parking Attendants will ensure that our patrons find their desired destinations safely and easily while aiding in the efficient use in our parking ticketing system.
This position is a temporary, part-time position, with an expected duration of 6 months. Weekends required. $21.49 hr 16-20 hours a week.

Principal Responsibilities:
Demonstrate the highest level of customer service, remaining welcoming, personable, and engaging to all museum visitors
Assist in wayfinding, providing directions and suggested routes of travel
Answers questions from the public pertaining to proper use of the parking areas
Observes and reports conditions that might be dangerous to the public
Keep parking areas free of any trash or debris
Aid in the distribution of parking tickets
Assist guests with payment options as they depart
Attend all mandatory department meetings/trainings
Prevent continued access as lots reach capacity
Kindly redirect newly arriving visitors once lot is closed
Use radio to communicate with supervisor
Required Education and Experience
High school education, GED, or equivalent
Previous experience working with children and families a plus but not required
Bilingual ability a plus but not required
Required Skill/Ability
Strong people skills, including diplomacy, empathy, and communication
Cheerful upbeat attitude, confident when approaching guests and families
Ability to work in busy/noisy environments while remaining calm and approachable
Willingness to stand, walk, and work outside for the length of shift
