TenSquare seeks an Instructional Leader for a school in Washington, DC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as primary instructional leader ensuring an academic program tightly aligned to student achievement outcomes;
- Support teachers to implement a rigorous curriculum, aligned to Common Core Learning Standards, and provide actionable feedback that leads to professional growth and student success;
- Oversee high quality professional development and facilitate continuous professional learning;
- Evaluate teacher effectiveness, providing consistent feedback and opportunities for improvement;
- Oversee interim and state assessments; collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data; and facilitate the examination of data to assess gaps and inequities, improve practice, and improve student outcomes;
- Lead a positive student and staff culture, modeling high expectations for excellence from the top;
- Ensure the socio-emotional well-being of all students by overseeing robust student support services and encouraging active parent involvement;
- Oversee high-quality college and career programming;
- Establish partnerships with community organizations to ensure resources and opportunities for students, and effectively advocate on behalf of the school community;
- Oversee student recruitment efforts to ensure enrollment goals are met;
- Manage and grow an experienced and dedicated academic and school culture leadership team;
- Collaborate with the operations team to address building management issues; implement school-wide safety and emergency protocols; and ensure supplies, equipment, and instructional materials support students' social, emotional, and academic development;
- Collaborate with school principals to ensure program alignment and partner with the senior leadership team to sustain a premier institution in Washington, DC.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Master’s or an advanced degree in K-12 school administration, curriculum & instruction, or a related field with strong academic preparation is preferred;
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership with proven results in an urban school setting that demonstrates student growth;
- Demonstrated success as an effective classroom teacher.
