Chief Innovation Officer

United WE is excited to partner with WittKieffer, a leading executive search and advisory firm, to find a mission-driven and innovative leader to serve as the inaugural Chief Innovation Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing national organization committed to making change accessible to all women, particularly those facing significant economic and civic participation barriers.

Reporting to the CEO as the number two in command, the Chief Innovation Officer will have the opportunity to lead programs, act as an internal and external leader for the organization and be a key decision-maker overseeing several of the organization's operations and initiatives, empowering women and growing states' economies. Our mission is to advance all women's economic and civic leadership to make meaningful societal change. Since our founding in 1991, United WE has become a nationally recognized organization that empowers women from all backgrounds and communities nationwide.

The successful Chief Innovation Officer candidate will play a critical role in the Appointments Project® to expand its current presence from regional to national, including bringing in new partners and revenue streams. This position is designed for a mission-oriented and exceptional servant leader who can effectively manage multiple programs, build and mentor a dedicated team, and develop and implement innovative strategies to ensure organizational success. In the absence of the CEO, the Chief Innovation Officer will assume leadership.

The ideal candidate for this role will have at least ten years of experience in a substantially similar role, demonstrating a strong commitment to gender equality and social justice, experience in the nonprofit and/or government sectors, and understanding of the importance of building meaningful relationships with donors, partners, elected officials, and other key stakeholders. An undergraduate degree is preferred; a combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.

This is a remote position with semi-regular travel to Kansas City, Missouri, and a starting salary of $150,000 with comprehensive benefits.
