Who We Are

Gratitude Railroad is a community-driven impact investment firm championing innovative businesses that generate compelling financial returns and enduring impact. Over the past decade, we have seeded and built a large portfolio of over 45 early-stage companies and emerging impact funds, catalyzing hundreds of millions of dollars into impact-focused businesses across sectors. We convene, educate, and inspire high-net-worth individuals, family offices, advisors, and foundations who contribute their expertise and resources to our collective work. Our extended community also includes company founders, fund managers, and ecosystem partners who collaborate with us on advancing and building the impact investing field.

This person will also manage our team’s internal operations. An excellent communicator and entrepreneurial problem-solver who takes pride in juggling multiple projects and timelines, writing engaging e-mails tailored for different stakeholders, and keeping organized files and calendars will thrive in this role.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates high-level project management, communications, and database management skills, and has a strong results-orientation. Our ideal candidate is self-directed, collaborative, and eager to drive impact for both our firm and our investors. This is a role that will provide exposure to exciting companies and funds at the forefront of innovative and impactful solutions.

  • Support investor communications and investor database management, including: updating investor information and listservs; sending investor e-mails, surveys, and updates; and coordinating investor on-boarding
  • Manage logistics, speaker management, budget and expense tracking for community events, including our annual Gratitude Investor Gathering
  • Provide high-level administrative support for key organizational events, including managing calendars for recurring meetings/events, investor relations and select team projects and Board meetings
  • Update and manage prospective and current investors lists
  • Manage post-investment process
  • Build out a portfolio base to better track our investments across companies and funds
  • Manage and conduct outreach on portfolio company and fund data to collect relevant updates through cloud-based file organization for Investments team
  • Support special projects as needed

  • Proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office, File Management System (Docsend, OneDrive, etc), Powerpoint, Excel, Slack; Experience with Airtable and Affinity is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a remote team environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent personal and professional references

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: You take initiative and operate efficiently with minimal instruction. You have a track record of going above and beyond what is asked
  • Methodical Innovator: You have a knack and natural curiosity about process and system improvements, and how technologies (such as AI) can be used effectively to improve operational efficiency
  • Details, Details, Details: You sweat the small stuff and care about finishing what you start. You triple check communications to ensure they are error-free and professional
  • Process Driven: You thrive in creating, maintaining, and continually improving processes; Systems are your best friend
  • Proactive Communicator: You know when to ask for help and when to figure things out on your own. You tend to err on the side of sharing more to keep those you are working with in the loop
  • Professional and Attuned: You tailor your messages to whom you are communicating with and have a knack for striking the right tone
  • High-performance Team Player: You have a “no task too small” mentality and always look to support other co-workers and contribute to an inclusive company culture

Our DEI Commitment & Values

  • We value “distance travelled”[1] equally as much as pedigree and hope to attract talent with a diverse set of experiences, perspectives, and skills that aligns with our firm values.
  • You share our commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice – as evidenced by your professional or personal activities – and look forward to participating in training or other activities to continue improving our workplace and network.

Our Organizational Values

  • ACTION | We trailblaze the path not yet followed. We embody a growth mindset and encourage experimentation, even if the work is messy. Iteration matters to us as much as contemplation.
  • HUMILITY | We strive to be self-aware and understand our shortcomings. We learn and defer to those that have more knowledge and lived experience, and aim to always improve and leave a situation or place better than we found it.
  • COLLABORATION | We believe forging inclusive partnerships drives the deepest impact, even if the work is harder and more complex. We build bridges and commit to leveraging our resources to increase access and promote equity.
  • GRATITUDE | We practice gratitude and come to this work with a mindset of abundance and sharing. We approach our work with joy and optimism, because we believe the world can and will be better.
