POSITION OVERVIEW: The MVA Coordinator (Professional Development) is responsible for coordinating the professional development component of Mamatoto Village Academy for the perinatal health workforce, public health professionals, and healthcare institutions. Mamatoto Village Academy (MVA) focuses on advancing reproductive justice for Black women and birthing people through culturally resonant training, professional development, and technical assistance. MVA offers in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous courses integrating lecture, discussion, and interactive content across multidisciplinary topics designed to enhance clinicians' and non-clinicians' knowledge, skills, and expertise.

Program Support to Maintain Excellence
- Oversee the growth and implementation of the professional development arm of Mamatoto Village Academy (MVA), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives;
- Assist with compliance for granting organizations, program sponsors, workforce partnerships, etc;
- Assist in identifying programmatic risks and maintaining QA/QI processes;
- Attend conferences to learn from subject matter experts and contribute to internal shared knowledge transfer;
- Support the cultivation, stewardship, and maintenance of alliances and partnerships with community stakeholders to meet the professional development needs of healthcare and other perinatal professionals;
- As requested, represent Mamatoto Village's services and interests to grantors and external partners;
- Participate in organization and department meetings as required and maintain programmatic data; and
- As requested, support the Training Coordinator with internal PD development for MV staff.
MVA Academy
- Design curriculum and curate content for MVA offsite and online professional development courses, as well as completing CEU applications for all workshops and training;
- Coordinate offsite training conducted by MV staff with CBOs and other institutions;
- Manage the registration and CEU process for PD course participants;
- Facilitate PD courses for clinicians and non-clinicians;
- As needed, assist with the development and editing of the workforce training curriculum;
- Provide expertise, design, oversight, and launch services for tasks and activities with e-learning and web-based component ;
- Support development and the ongoing adjustment of agency e-learning guidance and strategy to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders ; and
- Manage and support online modules using appropriate authoring software
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO FOSTER SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or nursing, and at least 4 years of experience in workforce development, adult education, teaching, or a related field OR Master's degree in Public Health, Health Education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience with women’s health, human rights, reproductive justice, and/or maternal and infant health content
- Experience in developing and delivering curriculum that uses backwards design and adult learning principles to an array of target audiences
- Experience with online LMS platforms
- Strong project management skills with the ability to efficiently plan, organize, and execute multiple projects
- Passion for adult learning, teaching, mentoring, and job skill development
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop trusting relationships with diverse constituencies and communities
- Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Capable of multitasking in a high-paced environment
- Must communicate professionally and positively with supervisor, stakeholders, and co-workers
