The Program Manager for Road to Hire will oversee strategy and operations to drive mission-relevant results across one of Road to Hire’s education/career access programs. This impact-driven individual should be motivated by the opportunity to help companies diversify their workforces while creating opportunities for historically marginalized youth and young adults in our community. A successful candidate for this role will be a self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills, who puts systems change and inclusion at the forefront of decisions and is excited to roll up their sleeves and engage in every element of our programs. 

The Program Manager will adeptly manage and prioritize large projects, working closely with their peers, and manage a team. The Program Manager will autonomously own initiatives end-to-end, including outreach, recruiting, program design, impact reporting, and more. Program sizes may range from dozens to hundreds of participants. This is a full-time role which may require occasional weekends or evenings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Train, lead, support, and coach a core team of multiple senior associates, student career coaches and professional development instructors
  • Oversee student performance to ensure seamless transition from apprenticeships or college to the workforce
  • Embrace and inform Road to Hire’s mission through the organization’s next growth phases; set aggressive goals and inspire followership
  • Hold a high bar for performance of students, partners and staff
  • Coach and develop program staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with volunteers from multiple disciplines, including IT, accounting, legal, HR and communications/PR to manage all operational needs
  • Track and report end-to-end program results; use results and strong judgment to inform continuous improvement efforts
  • Formulate and lead large, inter-connected projects
  • Work closely with students and the groups that our organizations serve
  • Report on program performance to executive team and directors

 What We’re Looking For:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in:
  • Designing, building, and leading apprenticeships, college access programs, corporate college recruiting, and/or wrap-around support programs for students/new hires
  • Implementing learning opportunities for students and staff focused on college access, corporate recruiting/onboarding, and diversity, equity, and inclusion 
  • 4+ years of management experience of teams
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership and results in corporate or academic setting
  • Passionate about and strongly aligned with Road to Hire’s core beliefs and mission
  • Aptitude for making real-time decisions, measuring results and quickly changing course when necessary
  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to quickly build trust with direct reports and a wide variety of different stakeholders 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for using data and real-life narratives to compel action and support
  • This role does require proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series
