DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCER, Department of External Affairs

POSITION OVERVIEW

The New Museum seeks a Digital Content Producer (DCP) to propose, develop, and implement content to be distributed via newmuseum.org and other digital platforms. This role will shape and deliver content designed to help grow diverse audiences for New Museum initiatives and exhibitions; document public programming, such as a talks and performances; contextualize activities at NEW INC, New Museum's cultural incubator; and amplify programming produced by Rhizome, the New Museum’s longtime digital art affiliate. The DCP will leverage the New Museum's unique curatorial and programming expertise to deliver indelible digital content across formats, including video, audio, or native digital platforms.

Engaging with stakeholders across the Museum, the DCP will work within the Department of External Affairs on the development of a digital content strategy that adheres to a consistent calendar of existing digital content streams, with an emphasis on video for YouTube and social media platforms. This may include packaging archival programs of enduring interest and "story-boarding" for the capture and delivery of future programs, exhibitions, and/or content initiatives. The DCP will have further opportunity to develop expanded or new digital offerings in consultation with cross-functional stakeholders.

The role will be best served by an individual with a passion for digital storytelling, production experience, a keen editorial sense, and an ability to bring focus to activities that dynamically realize New Museum's mission and present a cohesive institutional voice. Above all, it is essential that the DCP shares New Museum's vision that digital networks are not merely spaces for a museum to communicate what it does in its building, but rather vibrant platforms in and of themselves on which to experience new art and new ideas.

This position reports to Associate Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy under the overarching direction of the Museum’s Deputy Director.

This is a union-represented position subject to terms of the Museum’s agreement with Local 2110, UAW, and is eligible for the New Museum’s employee benefits programs. Starting salary begins at $72, 671 commensurate with experience. The position is temporarily remote for the immediate term through December 31, 2021.
