The Assistant Director of Music Admissions is a newly created position that plays a key role in the management of the music application and audition processes, and in connecting with prospective Juilliard students. The Office of Admissions is looking for a strong communicator who values collaborating with a team of colleagues. We are looking for a candidate who thinks ahead, is energized by implementing change, and is excited to be an active partner to each member of the Office of Admissions team in the ongoing improvement and evolution of Juilliard admissions as a whole. A successful candidate for this position enjoys creative problem-solving and is consistent in relating admissions work to the mission and vision of the School.
The Office of Admissions interfaces with the public regularly on campus and on recruiting trips. This position will travel frequently, for the most part in the fall each year. Most of the members of the Admissions Office are in the office full-time for the days leading up to auditions and decision release. This position would be expected to be in-person regularly due to the nature of connecting with prospective students and their families. A hybrid structure is possible in communication with other members of the Office of Admissions team during parts of the year.
The Office of Admissions is headed by an Associate Dean for Enrollment Management and has two positions focused on admissions for Dance and Drama, two positions focused on Music admissions, a front desk position, and a position focused on enrollment management systems, in addition to a seasonal position that is filled from November to April. Each member of the team has expert knowledge in their area of work but is highly knowledgeable about the School as a whole. The Assistant Director of Music Admissions reports to the Director of Music Admissions. As a member of the Enrollment Management team, the Assistant Director of Music Admissions enthusiastically supports enrollment goals of talent, excellence, and diversity.
The salary for this role is $56,000-58,000 per year.
