    About Us

    Global Growers Network (GGN) is a nonprofit based in Decatur, GA that partners with people from diverse cultures to grow fresh food for their families and for local marketplaces. We work with 200 growers representing over 20 cultures and languages. We operate a network of community gardens in Decatur and Clarkston, a market farm located at the Indian Creek MARTA station in Stone Mountain, and a 23-acre organic co-farm in Conyers.

    Position Summary and Candidate Vision

    The Grower Network Program Manager will develop, manage, and document the success of diverse

    urban agricultural projects that meet the needs of our New American growers. The ideal candidate will have a track record of program management and experience with community building, agriculture, leadership and fostering equitable, shared decision-making in diverse settings.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Design and co-manage urban agricultural projects that support 250+ New American Growers in our network, ensuring budgets and outcomes are met. Projects include:
      • Land use and land access at Grower Network sites sites including MOU management and implementation
      • Resource development, workshops, and learning exchanges in regenerative agriculture that meet the goals of network members including food access and market readiness
      • Member registration and activities that enhance a culture of community connectivity and engagement of the network members in the goal setting and decision-making processes for their projects
      • Network communications including interpretation, translation, and dissemination of information among Grower Network
    • Provide direct support and supervision to the staff (currently 2 part-time Network Coordinators) who lead day-to-day project activities to ensure goals and objectives are met, including collaborating with team members for site maintenance and coordination of volunteer activities
    • Build relationships with community partners to coordinate services and increase resources that support the goals of the organization and network members including:
      • Identifying, coordinating, and participating in initiatives that raise agency and the visibility of New Americans as food system leaders in our local urban agricultural ecosystem
      • Facilitating opportunities for sustainable agriculture, education, food access, and market readiness
      • Developing a portfolio of partnerships, resources, and market outlets
    • Document and report on all activities, impacts and measures of performance including overseeing annual assessment of Grower Network
    • Support recruitment, hiring, training and orientation of the Network team, and work with the leadership team to align team activities with strategic goals, communications and fundraising
    • Other responsibilities as needed

    Requirements

    • 3 years experience in urban agricultural or horticultural program management, including:
      • Budget management and program reporting
      • Supervisory responsibilities
      • Written reporting, plan development and project documentation
    • Commitment to and experience in facilitating leadership within community collaborations, using strategies that foster equitable, shared decision making
    • Experience facilitating formal and informal group discussions, preferably in multi-cultural contexts, for Limited English Proficient adults, to achieve collaborative decision making
    • Able to take initiative and self-prioritize multiple ongoing projects and tasks
    • Demonstrated ability to shift communication styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people and organizations
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between garden and office sites

    Preferences

    • In-depth knowledge of resources and programs that support regenerative agriculture, community-scale food production, and marketing of fresh, local produce
    • Experience working with interpreters and translators
    • Lived experience with one or more cultures in the Network and/or fluency in at least one additional language

    Location and Schedule

    This is a non-exempt position requiring forty hours per week with standard working hours, Tuesday-Saturday, along with occasional pre-scheduled evening and weekend work (on average about once a month). This position is based at our office at Legacy Park in Decatur, and will require regular presence at the various urban farm, garden and orchard sites in our network. Remote work is possible approximately 20% of the time, on an established schedule.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. Benefits include: Healthcare Reimbursement Account ($370/month), cell phone stipend ($25/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement account (3% match), paid time off (starts at 14 days/year) and paid holidays (6 public holidays; 2 floating holidays; 2 week bonus time at year-end), and professional development budget ($1,000/year).
