The Request for Comments (RFC) Series is a high quality, archival set of publications that define the technical functioning of the Internet. The Series predates the Internet, having started as working notes among the ARPAnet research community in 1969 and has grown to more than 9000 documents, ranging across best practice guidance, experimental protocols, informational material, and, of course, Internet standards.
The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is the premier Internet standards body and is a community-led organization that develops open standards through open processes. The IETF Administration LLC (IETF LLC) provides the corporate legal home for the IETF and its sibling organizations: the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) and the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF).
The IETF LLC is seeking a new RFC Series Consulting Editor (RSCE) who will help ensure the continued excellence of the RFC series. The series is the publication channel for archival documents of a diverse community consisting of organizations and individuals interested in the evolution of a reliable and secure Internet. The participants of the IETF and IRTF represent some, but not all, of the most visible members of that community.
We welcome applications from senior technical publishing professionals with deep and expert knowledge of publishing as it pertains to technical standards or specifications who can share and apply that knowledge to betterment of the RFC Series. This position will have flexible working arrangements and will be remote, with occasional need for international travel.
Applications should consist of a cover letter and curriculum vitae. These can be uploaded at www.perrettlaver.com/candidates quoting the reference number 5761. The closing date for applications is Friday, May 27, 2022.

This policy applies to hiring, internal promotions, training, opportunities for advancement, and terminations.
