Radio Show Producer, SiriusXM's The Catholic Channel

Produce a weekday evening radio show, called “The Busted Halo Show with Father Dave Dwyer.” Reports to the program director of the Catholic Channel, SiriusXM ch. 129, a partner channel with the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

Essential Job Duties:

· Create and write show content under the direction of the program director and the host

· Arrange studio bookings and remote airings of the show.

· Research and schedule guests who will appear on the show, with approval of the host.

· Act as sound engineer during live and pre-recorded shows (from a remote location such as your home)

· Edit audio show content, including creating ‘best-of’ shows from archival audio

· Produce daily and weekly show promos

· Post show content to social media and to remote podcasts

· Work closely with on-air personalities while managing the day-to-day activities of the show

· Should ideally be comfortable speaking on air

· Produce features for commercial breaks, special shows, and other daily shows, as assigned

· Complete other related duties, as determined by the program director and/or the general manager of the Catholic Channel, including helping with other daily shows.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

· Undergraduate degree, preferably in media, communications, broadcasting or a related field

· 3+ years experience in radio broadcast or other media

· Experience working on radio/tv shows focused on religious, namely Christian/Catholic, content.

· Strong written and oral communications skills, as shown through a proven body of work.

· Detail and deadline focused

· Ability to adapt under pressure to changing priorities

· Mission driven and comfortable working with the Catholic Church

Details

· This position will be a full-time employee of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York, working as a contractor with SiriusXM Radio. The position is fully remote and equipment will be provided to your location.

• the show airs live Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm Eastern time and you would need to be available at least from 5:00pm Eastern time, plus other hours during the week to add up to 40 hours.
