The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Washington/Alaska Chapter is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to support our two largest local fundraising campaigns. The Campaign Assistant will provide event assistance, fundraising support, and help increase overall awareness for LLS’s mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Overview

The Campaign Assistant will provide administrative support for both the Big Climb and the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb. In this role the Campaign Assistant will perform diverse projects and activities for these campaigns to support and enhance revenue generation.

 

The assignment will begin in early January 2020, ending in late April 2020, working up to 20 hours a week (9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday), with the exception of our busiest season, where the Campaign Assistant will be required to work up to 35 hours a week (2/17-3/27).

 

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION PAID BY A STAFFING AGENCY.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and clerical support for fundraising campaigns
  • Maintains assigned office, program and event records, files and databases
  • Provides customer support, such as mailing supplies, locating and following up on donations
  • Prepares event-related correspondence and reports
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned
  • Assists with logistical aspects of the climbs, such as organizing day-of-event logistics

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 0-1 year of fundraising, communication, marketing, event planning, data entry experience

 

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent MS Office Suite and database management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital, social media, and emerging online channels
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Professional and solid judgment
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
  • Some evening or weekend work required
