    What will you be doing?

    This role plays a pivotal role in executing and overseeing HR & Operational initiatives to align with organization objectives - translating vision into execution. Working hand in hand with all members of staff, board of directors, various external consultants, and vendors to ensure smooth operations and an employee experience where everyone can thrive!

    Operations Management

    • Manage a team of staff and/or vendors
    • Lead the day-to-day operations of the organization that support staff and ensure timely delivery of projects and deliverables
    • Develop and refine process documents, standard operating procedures, systems and tools; improving workflows and operational excellence
    • Oversee the facility management of The Market Commons and Foundation office
    • Ensure compliance with laws, company policies, and industry regulations
    • Cultivate a climate that invites and inspires diverse, top-quality staff and volunteers
    • Administer all local, state, and federal licensing, annual filings, and other regulatory compliance requirements
    • Work with IT consultant to manage IT hardware and software needs
    • Support bookkeeper to improve systems for accounts payable
    • Support monthly financial reporting, review and communications
    • Support annual budgeting process

    HR & Payroll

    • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of HR systems and policies
    • Point of contact for payroll and benefit vendors; as well as support staff in addressing and resolving related inquiries
    • Leads full employee lifecycle activities from applicant sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, offboarding, and exit interviews
    • Manage payroll cycle; ensuring timely and accurate updates of employee and organizational changes; payouts are in accordance with payroll scheduled, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
    • Administers benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, paid time off, leave of absence, and employee assistance programs, as well as renewal, open enrollment, and onboarding
    • Partner with senior management regarding appropriate resolution of employee related issues
    • Ensure full compliance with labor laws and HR policies in Seattle and the surrounding areas
    • Stay current with ever-evolving employment legislations and adjust internal policies accordingly

    What do you need to succeed?

    • At least 6 years experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Employee Relations related to creating, maintaining, and shifting employee culture
    • Passionate community-minded non profit professional with the ability to build internal and external relationships with a variety of stakeholders
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate across differences, across all levels in the organization, using multiple methods and styles - in a way that fosters learning, understanding and positive outcomes.
    • A commitment to social justice, racial equity, and intersectional practice with experience executing those values through your work
    • A keen understanding of one’s own race, culture, and identity and how it fits into the staff and client environment, as well as the world at large
    • Organized, detail oriented, and proactive
    • Works well independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in Google Workplace and Microsoft 365 tools
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • A sense of humor!
