    What You Will Do:

    The Manager of Institutional Partnerships is a key member of Bottom Line’s Massachusetts Development team. The Manager will spend most of their time managing a portfolio of institutional funders—primarily corporate partners—generating approximately $500,000 in annual revenue. The portfolio will include approximately 75-90 funders, the majority of which are in the $5,000-$50,000 range. The Manager is responsible for delivering personalized and strategic engagement experiences for each partner, deepening their connection to Bottom Line’s mission and impact.

    The Manager also plays a role in coordinating engagement experiences that strengthen relationships with corporate partners and advance Bottom Line’s corporate fundraising goals. They are responsive to programmatic volunteer needs by identifying suitable corporate partners for these opportunities and connecting those partners directly with the Career Connections team. Through this work, the Manager ensures corporate donors are engaged in meaningful ways that align with both organizational priorities and partner interests.

    Collaboration is central to this role. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Manager contributes to the region’s corporate giving strategy and overall donor engagement approach. They also lead grant writing and related deliverables for smaller foundation opportunities not supported by the national grants team, helping to sustain and grow institutional funding.

    This position is ideal for someone who is relationship-driven, highly organized and motivated by connecting stakeholders to mission-driven work through thoughtful stewardship, clear communication and meaningful donor experiences.

    Responsibilities:

    Corporate Portfolio Management(60%)

    • Manage a portfolio of 75-90 institutional donors, with a primary focus on corporate partners, generating over $500,000 in annual revenue.
    • Develop and execute individualized stewardship and solicitation strategies for each partner, incorporating touch points such as meetings, impact updates, volunteer opportunities, and events.
    • Represent Bottom Line at donor meetings, funder briefings, and corporate-hosted events.
    • Work with the Director of Institutional Giving to identify corporate partners with the potential for multi-year commitments and develop tailored strategies to secure these.
    • Lead corporate volunteer experiences that support donor engagement goals, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and career panels.

    Foundation Portfolio Support (20%)

    • Support the Director of Institutional Giving in achieving annual foundation revenue goals, exceeding $1.5M by managing grant proposals and reports not covered by the national grants team.
    • Lead the writing and timely submission of grants deliverables (proposals and reports) for smaller grant opportunities (typically under $25,000); leveraging the regional narrative template as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant data and stories that strengthen grant narratives and funder updates.
    • Represent Bottom Line in meetings with existing and prospective foundation funders as needed.

     Donor Data Management & Progress Tracking (10%)

    • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor activity, correspondence, and giving history in Salesforce, in alignment with organizational standards and in partnership with the national Development Operations team.
    • Track management progress and forecast revenue in coordination with the Director of Institutional Giving, using reporting and analysis tools developed by the national Development Operations team.

    Strategic Engagement and Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)

    • Contribute to the development and execution of Massachusetts’ strategic approach for corporate engagement and revenue growth, in partnership with the Director of Institutional Giving.
    • Work with the Director of Institutional Giving on the planning and execution of multi-year partnership commitments tied to large corporate gifts – such as externships, volunteer engagements, and corporate recognition deliverables.
    • Help shape regional donor engagement and stewardship strategy by bringing forward insights, feedback and ideas to enhance the quality and impact of donor experiences.
    • Collaborate regularly with development colleagues in other regions and the national Development Operations team – including the centralized grants management team – to exchange learnings, offer feedback and ideas, and contribute to the ongoing development of strong fundraising infrastructure, systems and practices.

    Work Schedule:

    Monday - Friday 9:00a – 5:00p or 10:00a-6:00p; flexibility may be requested; additional hours as needed.

    If you meet the qualifications below, you should apply.

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree and work authorization
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate and foundation fundraising, including grant writing.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to a variety of audiences.
    • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to develop and execute detailed plans
    • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate diverse stakeholder perspectives and motivations
    • Culturally competent and able to engage effectively with a wide range of constituents, including donors, board members, senior executives, staff, and students
    • Proven ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively to achieve goals
    • Familiarity with development tools such as Salesforce, Constant Contact, and iWave a plus
    • Knowledge of the regional educational and nonprofit landscape.
