Position Summary

The Development Database Manager reports to the Managing Director of Development and plays an integral role in the development department, which serves as the support arm of the organization, raising critical funds so that the organization can carry out its mission. This position works collaboratively and strategically with the members of the development team and data infrastructure team, supporting development on a range of data analytics, reporting, development activities, fundraising, and some administrative tasks. It is a terrific opportunity for a motivated team player who is eager to use data to help with fundraising principles and practices in a non-profit environment.

Requirements

• Manage and maintain day-to-day administration of the donor constituent records database (Salesforce); including but not limited to various types of data entry and data hygiene.
• Manage all development event data tracking, measurement and analytics related to fundraising event operations, attendees, registration, viewership, impact, and data flow integrations.
• Develop and implement practices to accurately and comprehensively track and document all donor information and activity into the database.
• Lead the team in crafting and refining development processes and procedures to maximize benefits and ensure proper execution of gift entry, donor data management, reporting, pledge fulfillment and acknowledgements.
• Maintain the department’s standard operating procedures library to ensure that processes and procedures are up to date and documented.
• Work with Moves Managers to ensure core database systems meet stewardship needs.
• Produce reports on various data points within Salesforce including but not limited to contact records, donation tracking, giving trends, campaign and event analytics.
• Identify patterns and trends in data sets and define new data collection and analysis processes.
• Participate in and support the strategic planning and implementation of all fundraising activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with and aptitude for relational databases; strong communication skills, exceptional database skills including: high-level data entry, tracking and analyzing data, producing reports; knowledge of Salesforce a must.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team's data strategy and overseeing database operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; solid knowledge and comfort with word processing, spreadsheets, mail merge and advanced functions.
• Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills;
• Self-motivated team player who can also work independently in a deadline-driven environment and successfully manage multiple projects, priorities and timelines.
• Nonprofit fundraising experience and/or familiarity with advocacy work from the perspective of a non-profit advocacy group or similar organization is preferred.

Classification

The National Partnership recognizes a staff bargaining unit, National Partnership United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in the NP United bargaining unit. Specific employment terms are subject to collective bargaining.

Salary & Benefits

Starting compensation will be a minimum of $65,564 with additional compensation based on years of

relevant experience. The National Partnership provides a generous benefits package that includes 3

weeks annual vacation time, paid sick time, paid federal holidays plus the last week of December,

health, dental, and vision coverage, 403B and SEP-IRA retirement options, and paid family and

medical leave for eligible employees. Note that accrued vacation and sick time are currently suspended for new employees while the National Partnership temporarily offers ad-hoc unlimited administrative leave for employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, recognizing that we all have a range of care-giving needs, including self-care and care for others, during this challenging time.

The National Partnership moved into a hybrid work environment where staff are required to be in the office at least 4 days per month, with additional in-office days determined by your role and job responsibilities.

Toward that goal, the National Partnership requires all employees to be fully vaccinated and completely up to date via an FDA authorized and/or approved COVID- 19 vaccination. Fully Vaccinated is defined by the CDC as being 2 weeks after the final dose in a primary series of COVID-19 vaccines (2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna, 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson). Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
