2022 Camp Thrive Team Leader
The Camp Thrive Team Leader is responsible for leading, supervising, and supporting a Camp Thrive Team of twelve middle school youth, and engaging them in outdoor adventure activities and natural and cultural resource education at various East Bay Regional Parks over a four-week period in July 2022.
The Camp Thrive Team Leader is ideally an individual who has had prior work experience providing outdoor education to urban youth; is eligible to drive a 15-passenger van each program day; and has a strong interest in coaching and mentoring an apprentice. EBAYC is hiring 17 Camp Thrive Team Leaders.
Core Responsibilities
1. Participate in and complete all Camp Thrive Orientation Week meetings and activities.
2. Lead, supervise, and support a Camp Thrive Team of 12 middle school youth for four-weeks, Monday through Friday.
3. Coach, mentor, and supervise one Camp Thrive Apprentice who will support you in the organization and implementation of all Camp Thrive activities.
4. Drive a 15-passenger van each program day and transport 12 youth to and from East Bay Regional Parks.
Minimum Qualifications
1. One year professional experience providing outdoor adventure and natural resource education to youth.
2. Competent in conducting various outdoor adventure activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, cooking, camping, swimming, and kayaking.
3. Knowledge of natural and cultural resources present in East Bay Regional Parks.
4. Valid California Driver's License.
5. Negative Result on tuberculosis test.
6. LiveScan background check clearance.
Work Schedule
8:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, beginning Friday, July 1, 2022 to Friday, August 5, 2022.
Compensation
$25 per hour, 6 hours per day, 25 days
