The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) is seeking a full-time Program Director for our program area on Human Rights in Global Supply Chains. The Program Director will develop and implement shareholder engagement strategies (such as corporate dialogues, shareholder proposals, policy engagement, etc.) with ICCR members, in partnership with NGOs, community groups, and other stakeholder groups, to drive corporate change. The Program Director will also represent ICCR’s unique voice within the greater field of business and human rights.

 About ICCR:

Founded 50 years ago, ICCR is a pioneer coalition of over 300 active institutional investor members representing faith-based communities, socially responsible asset managers, labor union pension funds, endowments, and others who leverage their investments as a catalyst for change. ICCR members work in coalition to engage the world's largest corporations on a range of social and environmental issues impacting communities in the U.S. and globally, including human rights; climate change; food justice; health equity; and corporate influence via lobbying and political spending.

About the Human Rights in Global Supply Chains Program:

Since its inception in 1971, ICCR’s members have worked with companies to eradicate human rights abuses in their operations and global supply chains. We are guided by the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, which provide a framework for corporations to adopt a strong human rights policy, conduct human rights impact assessments, and identify and remediate impacts. This systematic approach helps shape our members’ engagements with corporations on human rights. ICCR also works closely with stakeholder groups to ensure that the leadership and expertise of those impacted by human rights abuses are heard by companies and involved in the design of solutions.

  • Engage with policymakers to advance policy priorities.
  • Serve as an expert on business and human rights and represent ICCR at public forums and conferences.
  • Convene multi-stakeholder roundtables and other strategic sessions.

What we hope you’ll bring to the role:

You are a seasoned human rights advocate with deep knowledge of global supply chains, experience in holding corporations accountable for the harms they cause to communities around the globe, and an understanding of the importance of stakeholder leadership. You enjoy leadership development, excel at teamwork, and can manage multiple projects. You can learn issues in depth and translate that expertise into messages for multiple audiences.

Specifically, you will have many of the following qualifications:

  • Expertise and advocacy experience (5-7 years) in business and human rights, shareholder advocacy; and/or related fields.
  • Experience building leadership teams of diverse stakeholders and building partnerships with a variety of stakeholder groups.
  • Capacity to organize and lead a dynamic, broad-based advocacy coalition.
