About the Role: 

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a key role as a member of TACT’s small, collaborative team by providing strategic visioning, planning, design, and execution of marketing and communications campaigns. The successful candidate will understand the role of storytelling in driving nonprofit growth and impact. This position works closely with the leadership team to craft impactful messaging and visuals for programs, initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.   

About TACT: 

The Trans Advocacy & Care Team (TACT) is a growing trans-led nonprofit initiative based in the San Francisco Bay Area on a mission to champion the wellbeing of trans and nonbinary adults in the United States. 

We provide free and sliding scale peer counseling on a 1-on-1 basis through our Gender Advocates program and we facilitate a variety of peer support groups. We also provide gender equity training to organizations looking to create more supportive workplace environments for trans and nonbinary individuals. In all of this, we center trans-joy and wellbeing. We are trans folks helping other trans folks thrive!

What you’ll do: 

  • Steward TACT’s brand voice across all digital communications channels
  • Work closely with the leadership team to clarify brand voice and guidelines
  • Design and execute social media posts complete with accessible captions, hashtags, and image descriptions
  • Track website, newsletter, and social media analytics and report progress at monthly leadership team meetings
  • Execute advertising campaigns on social media and other platforms
  • Prepare and manage monthly newsletter, including written copy and visual content
  • Create visual assets to effectively communicate with various audiences for distribution in both digital and print form 
  • Collaborate frequently with individuals from various departments to support marketing campaigns for programs, events, and initiatives 
  • Lead marketing and communications initiatives during fundraising campaigns


Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a marketing, design, and/or communications role 
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts using automation tools like Buffer or Hootsuite
  • Experience creating content on Canva or other creative software, like Adobe Suite
  • Experience managing paid media advertising campaigns on platforms like META, Tiktok, Google, etc.
  • Ability to analyze social media metrics and make data-driven decisions about content and social media presence
  • Strong written communication and editing skills, with an attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Four-year degree in communications, marketing, design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 
  • Marketing experience in a nonprofit setting 
  • Graphic design expertise and experience with relevant design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and Google Analytics
