    Camp Māk-A-Dream provides camp programs for children and families impacted by cancer. We aim to empower survivors and their families to live with and beyond cancer through life-changing Montana experiences where they strengthen life skills, gain resilience, and develop lasting relationships.

    Job Title: Development Coordinator

    Reports to: Camp Director

    Job Purpose: Support our fundraising and grants program

    Job Duties and Classification: The Development Coordinator reports to the Camp Director and is an integral part of a dynamic, dedicated, collaborative, and creative development team. You will assist in the flow of operations for the development team to advance the team’s fundraising goals, maintain the donor database, and support fundraising and outreach events. This is a year-round, permanent, hourly position at 0.5 FTE. The salary range for this position is $20$22/hour, depending on experience. This is an in-person position (in our Missoula office), with the possibility of hybrid/remote work to be determined.

    Breakdown of Duties:

    • Donor Development (40%)
    • Work closely with the Development Team members to provide critical behind-the-scenes support and help execute fundraising strategies;
    • Collaborate with the Development Team to establish sponsorship goals and strategies for fundraising events and campaigns;
    • Coordinate scheduling and record notes for department meetings;
    • Support the identification and cultivation of prospective donors, foundations, individuals, and potential investors to accomplish the fundraising initiatives;
    • In collaboration with the Business Operations and Donor Relations Coordinator, maintain donor data management and take the lead with our customer relations management software (CRM), Donor View;
    • Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including planning, vendor coordination, onsite execution, and post-event follow-up;
    • Plan donor cultivation and appreciation activities; and
    • Showcase, promote, and build Planned Giving options and opportunities.
    • Grant Writing and Research (40%)
    • Research and write grant applications for projects and programs, and support grant administration on successful acquisitions; and
    • Prepare and present reports on grants and fundraising initiatives for board members and donors.
    • Support marketing and communications strategies as they pertain to fundraising and community engagement (10%)
    • Other duties as needed, including and especially Program Support (10%)

    Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

    • Skills Needed for the Position:
    • An understanding of fundraising campaigns and grant writing;
    • Experience with data management and CRMs; and
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Preferred Qualifications (knowledge, skills & abilities):
    • Significant experience in fund development, grant writing, and non-profit fundraising;
    • Proficient computer skills and experience in data management;
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills;
    • Proven project management skills;
    • Proven time management and organizational skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Flexibility, dependability, and creativity;
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with staff and volunteers;
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time; and
    • Assist in the coordination of outreach/ambassador events.
