About Power to Decide 

Power to Decide, the campaign to prevent unplanned pregnancy, believes that all young people should have the opportunity to pursue the future they want, realize their full possibility, and follow their intentions. These beliefs guide our work to ensure that all young people have the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child. We provide objective, evidence-based information about sexual health, and we work to guarantee equitable access to sexual and reproductive health services, including contraception and abortion. We are a national, non-partisan organization that is committed to common ground, common sense solutions and catalyzing innovation in the public and private sectors. 

Position 

Power to Decide is seeking a Director, Abortion Access who will work to expand access to information about abortion services. The Director will lead the ongoing development of a platform for patient navigators and others who support abortion seekers. They will also be responsible for maintaining and building a database of abortion providers, abortion funds, and practical support organizations that is used within the platform and on AbortionFinder.org. The Director will be part of the team that supports AbortionFinder.org, in addition to the patient navigator platform.

The Director should have strong project management experience, experience advancing abortion access, and an understanding of the process of developing digital products.

The Director will report to the Vice President, Digital Programs and Education. 


Responsibilities 

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Director, Abortion Access include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the evolution of the patient navigation platform, utilizing a user-centered approach to develop a roadmap and program strategy for the platform.
  • Supervising all vendor partners working on the platform, including web designers, a product/project manager, and developers/engineers.
  • Expanding the use of the patient navigation platform by establishing and documenting governance rules for participation, including overseeing processes to onboard new organizations and users.
  • Cultivating relationships and liaising with members of the abortion care community to coordinate efforts.
  • Executing grant deliverables associated with the project, draft related funder proposals and grant reports.
  • Ensuring data integrity of reproductive health clinic, abortion funds, and practical support databases.
  • Overseeing data collection, cleaning, and maintenance process, including supervising two fellows, vendors, and others involved in data management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A bachelor’s degree and 8 to 10 years’ of related professional experience required.
  • A highly organized team player with the ability to work collaboratively and individually; work on multiple tasks concurrently; and complete projects on schedule.
  • Highly responsive, able to follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and organized. 
  • A self-starter who can solve problems creatively.
  • Excellent oral communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience managing data collection and management processes.
  • A commitment to continuous process improvement and to user-centered processes.
  • An understanding of the process of digital product development.
  • Dedication to advancing abortion access, including an understanding of the complexities of the abortion care landscape and experience working on reproductive health access.
  • Experience working to advance health equity.
  • Experience managing and administering grant budgets.

Benefícios

The Director, Abortion Access is an exempt position. Salary is based on market factors and individual experience and abilities. The starting salary range for this position is $86,805 to $119,356 depending on experience and qualifications.
