Position: Assistant Producer, Global Community Program

Location: New York City

Details: Part Time, Contract (20 Hours/week)

Position Overview: This is a part time, contract position, supporting The Moth Global Community Program. Responsibilities include media and data management for 10+ storytelling workshops each year, correspondence with program alumni, and overall assistance in coordination of all departmental efforts. Supervised by the Producer of The Moth Global Community Program. The hours of the position are around 20 hours a week, but may change during some periods depending on workflow and project needs. The role is compensated at $25/hour.

Note: This position does not include travel or workshop instruction at this time. The length of position is until March 2023 with the possibility of extension.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Entering and organizing all Global post-production workshop and event materials into various databases and filing systems
• Assisting in the financial wrap for all workshops and events
• Drafting, proofing and assisting with various workshop and event materials
• Assisting in logistic coordination for workshops and events (including arranging travel)
• Coordinating Global Champion Network (GCN) correspondences, social media and newsletters
• Researching hotels, venues, etc as needed
• Supporting the Global team with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

• A love of The Moth’s work and mission
• Proficiency in google suite of applications, Microsoft Office, Airtable, Salesforce – and the ability to learn various database systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to switch between independent and collaborative work
• Creative, self-sufficient and proactive thinker; detail oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector and/or arts preferred

Additional preferred qualifications

• Experience in booking/managing travel, particularly international
• An interest in social media and content creation
• Experience working with community organizations in Africa and/or South Asia. Please note which languages you speak in your resume. 
• Ability to edit video and audio
