Supervisor: Director of Development Operations

Salary Range: $48,000 - $50,000 annually

The Role: The Development Operations Database Assistant supports the operation of Project Bread’s Development Office to maintain and improve the Raiser’s Edge NXT donor database. Under the direction of the Director of Development Operations, the Development Operations Database Assistant’s primary responsibilities include data entry and proper gift acknowledgment, maintaining biographical donor information, and ensuring database hygiene and integrity. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented and willing to spend extended periods of time doing routine and repetitive computer work.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Entry & Gift Acknowledgment

  • Manage data entry procedures, gift processing and pledge management activity in a timely and accurate fashion with keen attention to detail ensuring accuracy of both gift coding and donor biographical data.
  • Production, management and mailing of acknowledgement letters and tribute card program.
  • Answers phone and email correspondence from donors and team members.
  • Track, manage and report on fundraising for Project Bread’s Annual Walk for Hunger, matching gift program and monthly giving program.
  • Partner with Operations to coordinate gift deposits.
  • Other administrative duties relative to development activities as needed.

Database Integrity & Hygiene Management

  • Maintain the integrity and security of the database while adhering to Project Bread’s policies and procedures.
  • Management of database hygiene and maintain accurate constituent records. Responsible for maintaining updated donor information, including running quarterly updates and finding key contact information for constituents.
  • Manage and update a manual of policies and procedures for correct data entry and database management.

Organizational Responsibilities:

·        Participate in the annual Walk for Hunger, which includes working as event staff the weekend of the Walk, and attending pre-Walk events as assigned

·        Participate in organization-wide events and meetings as assigned

  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge required, or similar database experience will be considered
  • Expertise in the functional use of Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • Excellent word processing and accurate keyboarding skills required
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and to work effectively under deadline pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability
  • Able to work independently at times, as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and creativity

An interest in anti-hunger solutions

The Development Operations Database Assistant will need to be present in the East Boston office on a regular basis.
