Position Summary

AIChE Human Resources department is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, learning and development, employee relations, and benefits for AIChE. We help align the human resources initiatives to the organizational strategy taking into account organizational development, gap analysis and the well-being of our employees.

The full-time Payroll Specialist - HR Generalist will spend at least 50% of their time preparing for and executing ADP Workforce Now payroll for 150 employees. The remaining time will be dedicated to working with the HR Manager on numerous generalist functions that include employee engagement such as interviewing, onboarding staff, benefits, enforcing company policies and communicating practices

The successful individual will be comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets have an affinity for customer service, and strong written and verbal communications skills. The ideal team member will be a critical thinker and have proven experience with HRIS systems, is proactive in providing solutions for processes, and is forward thinking to continue to modernize the overall functioning of the HR team. .

Responsibilities

Payroll Duties:

• Execute all semi-monthly payroll functions using ADP Workforce Now.
• Work with ADP technical analysts on reports, tax information and general payroll items; prepare year-end benefits and salary reconciliation reports
• Communicate with our finance team to ensure smooth monthly reconciliation of accounts.
• Work with employees to insure smooth payroll functioning.

Generalist Duties:

• Participate in all full and part time employee on and off-boarding
• Manage several benefit programs including; 403(b) contributions & investments; Flexible Spending, Transitchek and Aflac
• Handle all paid time off communications and details
• Handle HR reporting, including Diversity Data, Organizational Charts and Turnover Reports
• Collaborate with HR team on learning and development, and employee engagement
• Manage temporary and intern recruiting
• Help develop and execute surveys and other research projects to modernize the HR department
• Research industry & association trends, competitive products, innovations, and best practices
• Manage all electronic employment files
• Other HR functions as assigned

Education Work Experience Requirements

• College Degree required; Business degree preferred
• 3 years of experience with overall payroll functioning and reporting

Salary Range

Salary is dependent upon experience and competencies. The range for this role is $75,000-$85,000 plus a generous benefits package.

Location

This is a hybrid position. The individual will work at our NYC Global Office 2-3 days per week.
