Marketing & Special Events Coordinator

This position will play a critical role in building awareness of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and its mission, promoting the Richard & Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, attracting new constituents, and increasing support for Historical Society programs and events. This is a highly interactive, hands-on position, reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Director of Development and Membership and Grant Coordinator.

Responsibilities        

Promote exhibits and special events through online channels, including our website HSPBC.org, our e-newsletter, social media marketing (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and online community calendars.         

Promote organization through press releases and print and digital calendar listings .        

Provide support for special event execution, including our Lecture Series, Public Programming Series, Young Friends events, exhibition openings, and Annual Meeting.        

Assist in creating event invitations, flyers, and other graphics as needed.         

Support membership campaign initiatives.         

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications    

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Marketing, Communications, etc.).         

Proficient with software applications: Adobe Creative Suite (required), Microsoft Office; Proficient with WordPress platform preferred but not required.         

Highly motivated self-starter with passion for marketing and promotion.       

Technologically-minded and fluent in social media marketing platforms a must.

Enthusiastic about consumer, guest, and end-user experiences.         

Willing and able to work in a fluid, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.      

Excellent writer and communicator.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.         

Organized, Detail-oriented, and able to maintain a high level of ownership and accuracy on all work activities.         

Ability to work basic office equipment safely and efficiently.         

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.        

Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Must pass a background check.
