Penfold Theatre Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Manager to join us. This role will be responsible for leading day-to-day communications, including creating digital content, storytelling pieces and marketing initiatives, ensuring a look and messaging consistent with Penfold’s initiatives.
The role also collaborates with video content creators and graphic designers. Basic layout ability is also a requirement,
This role reports to the Managing Director, and collaborates with the development, education, and artistic departments.
As a theatre company, ticket sales and fundraising are key performance indicators of this role’s success.
Key responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies
- Build the Brand
- Manage content creation and analytics tracking
- Collaborate with development to build fundraising results with individuals, sponsorships and grants
- Collaborate with the Artistic management to sell tickets,
- Collaborate with the Education management to promote summer camps and after-school programs
- Write compelling content for email campaigns, newsletters, website, social media, and print materials
- Collaborate with video content creators and graphic designers
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and improve communication effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent
- 3-5 years of professional communications experience, preferably in non-profit arts
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing, marketing software, content management systems, and ability to use basic design tools effectively (e.g. Canva)
- Basic understanding of website management and able to execute updates and solve problems
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
