City Year San Antonio seeks an experienced, collaborative, and innovative Community Partnerships Manager. This role will be responsible for assisting in recruitment efforts for the site and improving the AmeriCorps member experience through partnerships with local companies and non-profits.


The role will assist in recruitment efforts by supplementing the efforts of the National Recruitment and Admissions team by identifying and developing local partnerships, as well as adding capacity to local recruiting efforts, to create a strong pipeline of prospective City Year Site AmeriCorps Members.


The role will assist in improving the AmeriCorps member experience by working with Executive Director on strategic planning for creating partnerships that are mutually beneficial and give our corps opportunities post City Year or amplify their experience throughout the year (free housing, gym memberships, bus passes, etc.).


The manager will be responsible for leveraging new and existing partnerships with a variety of businesses and organizations in the surrounding area that are serving youth across San Antonio and the surrounding areas as a means of increasing awareness of the opportunity to serve as a member of the City Year San Antonio team for young adults ages 17-25. This position will require travel in and around the city and State. It is an opportunity to branch out into the community and create access to what it looks like to serve as a City Year Site AmeriCorps member. A significant portion of this role’s time will be in the community, building relationships, but will require organizational skills, the ability to articulate a vision, and the ability to work across departments as a unifier to make great things happen!


This position will report to the Executive Director for year one. This is the first year we will have the position at this site, and we will complete an assessment at the end of the year to determine where the position best fits in the organization.


Responsibilities 

  • Identify and assess youth-facing organizations and educational institutions (high schools, community colleges, local organizations) and like-minded businesses and organizations (companies, nonprofits, and educational partners) within San Antonio to supplement national recruitment partners and improve the AmeriCorps member experience. 
  • Build a strategic partnership plan inclusive of goals, strategies, and tactics to facilitate recruiting and partnership leads for City Year San Antonio. 
  • Implement cultivation strategies to increase City Year brand awareness among champions within and opportunities for them to promote City Year to prospects or partner with City Year to improve AmeriCorps member experience. 
  • Identify opportunities to promote City Year service directly to prospects through events, community presentations, champion introductions, facilitating professional development workshop, etc. 
  • Deepen opportunities to source candidates from San Antonio Independent School District, by partnering with site staff on a holistic district partnership approach. 
  • Leverage existing champions companies by partnering with Executive Director and Development to create an engagement strategy and marketing plan to highlight partnership. 
  • Partner closely with members of the national Recruitment & Admissions team to support a successful hand-off from local sourcing to the nationally led application and admissions process 
  • Partner with the national recruitment and marketing teams to help tell the City Year San Antonio story and our impact and AmeriCorps member experience. 
  • Support the recruitment of Returning AmeriCorps Members who wish to serve a second year with San Antonio. 
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to create and implement a strategic plan to ensure the long-term success of recruitment and improving the AmeriCorps member experience.
