We've seen demand for our support rapidly exceed our team capacity and we are excited to bring on a Development Lead to support in developing Climate 2025 to expand our capacity to expand our offerings.


About the Development Lead


The Development Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing Climate 2025’s income strategy and will be critical for growing and sustaining the organisation.


Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing Climate 2025’s income strategy
  • Iterating Climate 2025’s mixed income strategy alongside Climate 2025 Directors
  • Researching & identifying funding leads and understanding how to position the organization to them
  • Building and maintaining existing relationships with funders across impact areas, sectors, & geographies
  • Developing and submitting funding proposals
  • Managing grants and reporting to funders
  • Maintaining funder records and managing regular funder communications
  • Delivering regular presentations to funders on Climate 2025 and our pipeline of movements
  • Developing Climate 2025 outcome reporting 
  • Collaborating with the Access to Funding Programme Lead to support movement fundraising 
  • Building and maintaining existing relationships with funders across impact areas, grant amounts, & geographies
  • Managing grants and reporting to funders
  • Maintaining funder records and managing regular funder communications
  • Delivering regular presentations to funders on Climate 2025 and our pipeline of movements
  • Providing movements with feedback collated from relevant funders 
  • Developing movement outcome reporting mechanisms



This crucial role is perfect for an individual who enjoys the relationship and ideation side of fundraising. The role will work closely with the Climate 2025 Directors and Access to Funding Programme Lead.


You will have autonomy of funding outreach and overall strategy, using your initiative and know-how to generate new leads and the funds needed to help Climate 2025 flourish. You’ll be extremely organised with excellent attention to detail, and have demonstrable experience of funding environmental work. You will be skilled at managing multiple relationships, activities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working across organisational projects. You’ll be taking a proactive approach in understanding each project holistically: its value, impact, team, budget and identifying appropriate funding opportunities. 


This will be a remote position, with video conferencing. 


The job requires:

  • Development & implementation of a Fundraising Strategy alongside the Climate 2025 Directors
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of a wide range of fundraising techniques
  • Ability to identify opportunities to raise unrestricted and restricted funds from trusts and foundations
  • Managing grant writing process including meeting deadlines, reporting, and tracking
  • Effective administration of fundraising research, data and finance
  • Ability to foster new relationships with corporate and business donors
  • Experience of working with high value donors and ability to cultivate relationships
  • Supporting necessary process, procedures and policies to ensure compliance and alignment with Climate 2025 mission, goals and culture
  • Keeping apprised of fundraising best practices and trends


Experience and skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience and a proven track record in a development role
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and relationship-building skills as well as the ability to influence and motivate supporters
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet often competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enjoy working collaboratively
  • Ability to work with attention to details and with accuracy
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/assignments as needed
  • Sensitivity to donors and their needs, with the ability to easily relate to others


Reporting to: Climate 2025 Board

Salary: £30,000-£40,000

Hours: The ideal candidate is full-time, though part-time or job shares will be considered.
