Publications Editor/Graphic Designer

Legal Services of New Jersey (LSNJ) is seeking a Publications Editor/Graphic Designer with writing, editing, and design experience to produce monthly and periodic newsletters, manuals, brochures, and other publications for print and digital media. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and communication skills and be attentive to detail. Legal Services of New Jersey’s publications department supports the mission of Legal Services, which is to secure justice for people living in poverty, by producing legal education materials.

Required Skills

·       Strong written and verbal communications skills

·        Excellent editing and copywriting skills

·        Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Acrobat)

·        Experience in publications design with excellent layout, typography, and color sense

·       Good understanding of MS Office, especially Word

·        Experience creating Acrobat fillable forms

·        Previous writing and proofreading experience

·        Attention to detail

·        Ability to take direction and work well with others and also work independently

·        Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

·        A positive attitude with a passion for social justice and creating exciting work

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an art school or university or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Spanish fluency helpful but not required
