ABOUT MOSAIC FAMILY SERVICES  

Mosaic Family Services is a safe haven for survivors of human rights abuses including intimate partner violence and human trafficking. Mosaic provides shelter, counseling, and comprehensive social services as well as legal representation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise and perform day-to-day activities of Mosaic shelter.
• Answer the 24-hour hotline, screen calls for program admission, and manage the front desk.
• Perform ongoing evaluation of program activities.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of lead shelter attendants.
• Maintain proper client, program, and facility documentation.
• Maintain applicable knowledge of Mosaic Family Services’ policies and procedures.
• Develop safety plans for women and child residents.
• Conduct needs assessment and intake for women and child victims as needed.
• Conduct crisis counseling and supportive counseling (in person and through hotline).
• Assist in the development of resources for victims of domestic violence.
• Procure in-kind donations and oversee donation distribution to residents.
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of the program site.
• Participate in fundraising activities to secure needed resources for Mosaic Transitional House.
• Supervise volunteers or interns designated to Mosaic House.
• Provide tours of the shelter and host site visits for donors and foundation visitors
• Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in professional trainings and conferences pertaining to family violence, human trafficking, refugees, asylees and other relevant topics.
• Participate in weekly directors’ meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor or Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters’ degree or equivalent in a human service field. MSW preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory position.
• Knowledgeable of refugee and immigrant services. Previous experiences preferred.
• Two-year experience in working or interning with family violence service agencies.
• Effective communication with culturally diverse populations.
• Sensitivity and compassion for the needs of victims of family violence and human trafficking. Bilingual in English and one of the refugees or immigrant languages preferred.
• Strong oral, written and paperwork skills.
• Computer literate.
• Flexible schedule.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage work-related stressful situations and crises.
