About the Role:

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and The Leadership Conference Education Fund seek a dynamic Field Assistant to accomplish a variety of administrative tasks within the Field and Member Services Department and to support the organizations civil and human rights campaigns. The employee will have the opportunity to help build and monitor administrative infrastructure that is critical to the success of the organization’s campaigns while also supporting outreach efforts to local partners across the country.

What You Will Do: 

Assist in the coordination and maintenance of effective technical support for the Field and Member Services Department in support of the organizations' campaigns and programs.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Coordinate materials, including working with outside vendors, shipping services, etc.
• Support the planning of events, conferences, and convenings (when safe and appropriate).
• Reserve travel and accommodations as needed (when safe and appropriate).
• Track and process memorandums of understandings, invoices, etc.
• Conduct outreach and follow up to state partners and national coalition members.
• Order supplies as needed for public education events.
• Track activities for the campaign work plans and tracking grids; manage department calendar; and share these documents with team members and team leaders for reporting and tracking purposes.
• Schedule and prepare (e.g., reserving conference rooms, ordering food, duplicating materials, managing zoom call) meetings and conference calls with coalition and allied organizations.
• Draft and/or edit invitations, emails, and other communications for the coalition and state partners, including a bi-weekly newsletter. 
• Manage and maintain list servs/mailing lists for the Field and Member Services Department.
• Work with team to ensure smooth operation of various systems related to membership management.
• Possibility to provide support to a priority issue area and assignment to respective team.
• Administratively support the EVP of Field and Member Services.

What You Will Bring: 

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in organizing, outreach, and or/advocacy required. 
• Experience in MS Office including Word and Excel, Google Drive applications, and internet research tools. 
• Strong communications skills with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently. 
• Robust skillset in planning and coordination with various levels within the organization as well as external stakeholders. 
• Desire and ability to work with diverse groups of people. 
• Ability to manage a complex workload and organize time efficiently. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to get along well with all staff. 
• The ability to coordinate multiple administrative tasks under tight deadlines require 
• A college degree is not required for this role if candidates can demonstrate extensive experience working with large coalitions and/or organizations with membership bodies or affiliates. 
• A demonstrated commitment to civil and human rights.

Salary Range – $49,412 - $51,144

Please note, this position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific employment terms are subject to collective bargaining. 

Office Re-opening Statement  

Our office is open. During the Covid-19 pandemic, staff have the option to work from the office or home. We anticipate that staff will return to the office in some capacity later this year.
